The Bleimes Name

As far as we know, there are only 6 people with the Bleimes name in the United States. Those people would be George Sr. (actually the 5th), his daughter Diane, son George (the 6th), daughter-in-law Kathy, and two granddaughters Lindsey and Ashley.

Where is the name from? It is actually Prussian, which now is part of Germany. It might have been changed from Pleimes at some point back in Germany (before immigration to the United States), but we don't really know. Actually there is a mountain in the Dabringhousen area of Germany named Bleimesberg, so there may be a connection there.

Does it mean anything? Well if you search Google, the only time you will find the word bleimes not connected to the six people above turns out to be French. The best part is that it seems the French word bleimes refers to some kind of foot ailment, usually related to horses. Go figure.
